About
Buying a home is a big deal. For some of
us, sometimes, it’s the biggest deal in our lives. Where we live has the most
influential value on our lives, and not by mistake Hazal said טוב שכן קרוב

Personally, before going into real estate
myself I always looked at apartments only via real estate agent. Some people
argue ‘what the real estate agent do?! Show me the apartment? Wow, I can open
the door myself!
If this is all the agent is doing then
indeed there’s no need for his service. But when I look at buying a house, I
see the most important deal in my life and a chunk load of money sometimes
involved with mortgage and loans and my grandmas etc.
I
want to know everything goes fine and I want to know every aspect of the deal
is thoroughly checked. I want to know the legal stuff. I want to know who is checking
my legal stuff. I want to know what airways facing the windows and what
building looking at me and what is going to be built in front of my living room
in the future. I want to know education surrounding from kindergarten to highschooler
to university. Yes, I want the kid to be a doctor.
I want to know if there’s noise. I need to
know about near my home. I want to know who’s going to synagogue with me I want
to know if there’s a garbage facility under my first-floor apartment which I
wasn’t informed of – because I wanted to be keepsake on the 2% agent fee while
buying a 3 million NIS apartment – I want to know what I don’t know now that I
want to know.
Why is this important? Because what I’m
doing is a lot of work and I want to work with people who understand and
appreciate it. Not with people who think I’m hiding a list of properties and I’m
being paid to expose the list.
Real estate companies can be contacted
directly through their websites, but when you buy a home you need someone that
will represent you, not the company, and this someone can’t be your uncle
lawyer in Jerusalem (who can be best at dealing with the legal stuff but doubly
have the time and knowledge to explore every aspect of the deal as I described
above.
